Job Description
The ultrasound tech performs diagnostic sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate, and record physiological, pathological, and anatomical data. They use ultrasound equipment to aid in diagnosis and provide patient education and supervision. The role focuses on patient safety, operation of equipment, and following departmental procedures.
Requirements
- Experience with ultrasonic equipment
- Graduate from an accredited sonography program or completion of an ultrasound program
- American Registry of Diagnostic Sonography Registry (ARDMS) or Certified Medical Sonographer (CCI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Medical Director License (ARDMS or CCI)
- Ability to evaluate competency of others
- Ability to operate department policies
