We are seeking an engaging, knowledgeable, and student-centered Middle School Science Teacher to join a growing public charter school in Plainfield, NJ. This teacher will work with grades 5–8, helping students explore the world around them through hands-on experiments, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking.
Requirements
- Teach science content across grades 5–8, including Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, and introductory Chemistry/Physics concepts.
- Create and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards that promote inquiry-based learning.
- Facilitate hands-on experiments, lab activities, and real-world investigations that spark curiosity and deepen understanding.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including those needing remediation or enrichment.
- Use assessments and data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction for mastery.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages questioning, exploration, and scientific thinking.
- Integrate science-related technology tools and digital resources to enhance instruction.
- Collaborate with grade-level and content teams on curriculum development and cross-curricular initiatives.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.
