Optical Simulation Scientist

Focused Energy is seeking a highly skilled Optical Simulation Scientist to develop and apply advanced computational tools for modeling laser systems. The role involves building high-fidelity digital models to inform system architecture, component design, and experimental validation.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in optics, computational physics, applied mathematics, or a related field
• Deep understanding of laser and optical systems
• Proven experience developing multiphysics or digital twin models for complex physical systems
• Proficiency with multiphysics and optical tools (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS, Zemax, FRED, CodeV)
• Strong programming skills (Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar) with version control (Git)
