Staff Software Development Engineer

Fortinet is seeking an experienced Staff Software Development Engineer to develop and enhance features for their signature engine, header security, CSRF, WAF, API security, and more. The role requires a candidate with a logical approach to coding and the ability to grow their career in the network security industry. They will work closely with various teams to deliver high-quality features and improve security, addressing issues like false positives and evasion.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical program
• Proficiency in C language, development tools, and Linux environments (gcc gdb, libc)
• Solid knowledge of the HTTP/HTTPS/HTTP2 protocol
• Familiarity with network firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, SSL, WAF, ADC
• Experience with Linux systems and networking
• Hands-on experience with web servers and proxies (Nginx/Apache/Haproxy)
• Understanding of Web technologies (HTML/CSS/Javascript/JSON/XML)
• Experience with Web security tools (ModSecurity, Snort, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Metasploit, Sqlmap, Selenium, Puppeteer) is a plus
• High self-learning abilities
