Job Description
As a Dam Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of dams in Fortum's hydroelectric power production. You will work on driving the dam safety assessment process, ensuring consequence assessments, and implementing various types of dam safety investigations and assessments.
Requirements
- Responsibility for a subset of Fortum's dam portfolio
- Driving the dam safety assessment process
- Ensuring consequence assessments and evaluation of the severity of consequences at dam failure in high-flow situations
- Implementing various types of dam safety investigations and assessments
- Evaluating and following up on maintenance activities
- Drawing up proposals for measures for minor maintenance activities as well as larger investment needs
- Initiating and participating in projects as a specialist in dam safety matters
- Developing and holding internal training sessions in dam safety in collaboration with colleagues
- Working as a decision support in critical preparedness situations
- Collaborating on dam safety matters with internal and external stakeholders
- Reporting to and collaborating on dam safety with authorities
- Maintaining ongoing collaboration with the operation and maintenance organization
- Contribute to the development of Fortum's dam safety work
