Job Description
The Foundation for Blind Children is seeking a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist to support our summer transition programs for high school students with visual impairments. The position involves planning and implementing O&M lessons, assessing student skills, and providing mentorship for certified interns. The role also requires collaboration with other instructors and participating in field trips and activities.
Requirements
- Certified in Orientation & Mobility services by the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals
- Prior experience working with students with visual impairments preferred
- Strong proficiency in assistive technology tools, software, and programs for individuals with vision impairments
