The Fraunhofer Institute for Foundry, Composite, and Processing Technology IGCV is seeking a department head for the Flexible Production Automation department. The successful candidate will lead the department, develop innovative research and development projects, and work closely with industry partners.

Requirements

• Completed scientific university degree in natural or engineering sciences
• Doctorate desirable
• Funded knowledge in at least two of the following areas: Robotics, automation technology, production systems
• Human-robot collaboration, mobile or humanoid robotics
• Control and communication architectures in production
• Battery production
• Several years of experience in leading projects, ideally in application-oriented research or industry
• First leadership experience is desirable
• Emphasis and social competence
• Appreciative, trusting leadership style
• Genuine interest in the professional and personal further development of employees
• Systematic and analytical working method, as well as very good communication skills and confident appearance
• Very good English knowledge in word and writing
• Willingness to travel
