Associate General Counsel - Mortgage Securities

Freddie Mac is seeking an Associate General Counsel - Mortgage Securities to join their team. The position requires a JD degree, membership in good standing in a state Bar, and a minimum of eight years of legal experience. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to capital markets clients, provide counsel on program improvements, and collaborate with peers and outside counsel.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• Membership in good standing in a state Bar
• Minimum 8 years of legal experience
• Minimum 10 years of related work experience
• Transactional experience in securitization, structured finance or capital markets with a major law firm or corporate law department
• In-depth knowledge of federal securities laws and securities market practices
• Ability to lead and manage transactions, including drafting and negotiating transaction/disclosure documents for complex residential (single-family and multifamily) MBS issuances
• Understanding of legal, market and regulatory issues affecting the securities and MBS markets
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal professionals
