2026-27 School Nurse - Flagship MS

Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools is seeking a School Nurse to provide medical care and support to students. The successful candidate will have experience working in education and urban communities, and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health procedures and protocols, administering medications, and developing individual health care plans.

Requirements

• Associates Preferred LPN Certification Required
• 2+ years of professional work experience with background in education and urban communities preferred
• Ability to use clinic/medical equipment
• Possess basic pharmacological knowledge
• Ability to assess emergency situations and act accordingly
• Comfortable knowledge of universal procedures and ability to teach this to others
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Willing attitude to be a part of the school team
• Strong sense of professionalism
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel locally using own transportation; willingness to travel within the state, as required
• Willingness to work additional hours and/or evenings, on occasion
• Making referrals to public or private agencies with appropriate follow-up
• Serving as a liaison between school, family, and community resources
• Experience with special needs students
• Experience with Crisis Management
• Experience with social and community organization coordination of benefits
