Scientist I, AI Engineer

Frontier Medicines is seeking a highly motivated Scientist, AI Engineer to join their AI organization in South San Francisco. The role will involve designing and deploying machine learning models to advance covalent small molecule drug discovery.

Requirements

• Design and deploy machine learning models, agentic AI systems, and multimodal foundation and generative models
• Work closely with medicinal chemistry, biology, and cross-functional drug discovery teams
• Build AI-powered tools that translate complex data into actionable scientific insight
• Design architecture and training strategies for multimodal AI models
• Develop and adapt generative molecular design approaches
• Implement and benchmark molecular representations and build multi-task approaches
• Deploy models into serving infrastructure
• B.Sc in computational or quantitative discipline with 2-3 years industry experience
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with coding tools
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with experts across disciplines
