Game Designer

FunGuy Studio is the premier game development and design outsourcing studio in the Philippines, producing entertainment and enterprise technology for partners across the globe. A Game Designer is responsible for game concept, elements, rules, setting, story, characters, props, and gameplay ways.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent level of experience
• At least 2 years’ experience as game designer
• Keen interest in the casual gaming market
• Excellent communication skills
• Exceptional understanding of all types of games, their mechanics and the interplay of game elements
• Familiarity with modern scripting languages such as LUA
• Familiarity with modern game development practices such as Scrum, Agile and Lean
• Conversant with process tools such as Perforce, svn or git
• Creative and imaginative
• Fluent in a number of software packages
• Have a thorough understanding of the market and target audience for computer games
• Have storytelling ability
• Understand the capabilities and benefits of different hardware including PCs, consoles and mobile devices
• Have basic drawing and 3D design skills
• Willing to keep up to date with new developments and trends in the computer games market
