Job Description
The Associate School Counselor at the Clerc Center provides counseling services to students, designs and implements counseling programs, and maintains accurate records. Reporting to the Director of Academic Programs, the Associate School Counselor works with students, teachers, and staff to support students' personal and social growth.
Requirements
- Master's degree
- A minimum of one year of experience with counseling, mental health, or a related field
- Ability to communicate in American Sign Language
- OSSE School Service Provider (SSP), National Certified Counselor (NCC), DC Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and/or Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) credentials
- Strong organization and management skills
- Strong knowledge of tests used in guidance counseling
- Strong knowledge of individual and group methods
- Strong ability to perform with a high degree of ethical responsibility
