Lumberman

The lumberman loads and unloads building materials and other incoming materials for delivery or storage. This position is occasionally referred to as a Load Builder. The lumberman must read, write, understand, and relay, written and verbal instructions. The ability to operate various hand and power tools when needed. The ability to operate various types of material handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts when needed.

Requirements

• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or operational needs.
• Stack loads in locations such as material sheds, storage or production areas, loading areas, delivery vehicles, or by hand using material handling equipment.
• Carry out general yard duties.
• Maintain proficiency in all organizational safe working policies and practices.
• Follows all organizational policies and procedures
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Reviews deliveries for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
