Manager, Data Engineering

Garner's mission is to transform the healthcare economy, delivering high quality and affordable care for all. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join and lead the team responsible for the systems that generate Garner’s national healthcare provider rankings.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with a focus on big data and distributed systems
• 3+ years experience as an engineering leader with a track record of translating ambiguous business requirements into scalable solutions and new product features
• Expertise with batch data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, EMR, etc.
• Expertise with big data technologies such as Argo, Apache iceberg, AWS glue, Spark, Metaflow, DBT, and Soda.
• Strong leadership skills with an ability to inspire, motivate, mentor, and retain top engineering talent
• Proven ability to influence without authority (e.g. driving process improvements, spearheading architecture enhancements, etc.)
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP)
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g. HIPAA, EDI) is highly desirable.
