Manager, Engineering (Data Platform)

Garner is seeking an execution-focused and visionary Data Engineering Manager to lead the Data Platform Team, responsible for building the common, reusable abstractions and high-throughput data infrastructure that power Garner’s internal and external applications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience with a focus on Big Data and distributed system and infrastructure
• 2+ years of managing engineering teams with a track record of building and mentoring high performing teams
• Expertise with batch data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, EMR, etc.
• Experience with stream processing systems such as Kafka and RedPanda
• Proficiency with technologies such as Temporal, Apache iceberg, AWS glue, Spark, DBT, and Soda
• Strong ownership and proactive mindset with ability to translate complex business needs into scalable, actionable technical roadmaps
• Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced startup environments
