Job Description
The EC Teacher - General Curriculum - Interim will provide special education services to students identified as disabled in accordance with State and Federal regulations. The teacher will develop and implement the Individualized Education Program (IEP) in classroom settings and assist students to develop appropriate academic, behavioral, and social skills.
Requirements
- Planning, organizing, and presenting instruction to help students with disabilities learn subject matter and skills
- Developing and implementing instructional plans and IEPs for students with disabilities
- Providing direct special education instruction to identified students
- Monitoring student behavior and maintaining discipline in the classroom
- Assisting disabled students with personal and self-help needs
- Communicating with parents regarding their children's educational progress
- Maintaining student records in accordance with North Carolina's Procedures Governing Programs and Services for Children with Disabilities
