Lab Technician

Gates Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Test Lab Operator to provide mechanical testing support for material, product/system development, validation and quality activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with Engineering and other technicians to provide testing support in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
• Understanding of mechanical laboratory test equipment
• Understanding of manufacturing, laboratory settings or quality assurance
• Good interpersonal, oral and written skills
• Good planning, time management and organizational skills
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Basic understanding of electromechanical control systems
• Basic understanding of hydraulic or power transmission systems
• Ability to setup and utilize data acquisition systems
• Demonstrated ability to communicate test related information
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and trouble shoot test related equipment and/or procedural issues
