Systems Administrator

Role Overview

GDIT is seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our growing IT team. This mid-level position offers the opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and optimization of our critical IT infrastructure.

What You Will Do

Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems (Windows or Linux), applications, and hardware. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, escalating complex issues to senior staff when necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of experience in system administration
• Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows or Linux)
• In-depth knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Secret Clearance-must be active
• Security+ or Security X or CASP or Level II equivalent Information Assurance Technician Certification in compliance with DoW Directive 8140 Workforce Program
