Job Description
GEICO is looking for an Associate Counsel to defend lawsuits filed in Texas courts and other first-party insurance defense. The position involves researching laws, preparing legal briefs, and handling pleadings and discovery. The ideal candidate has 2-6+ years of experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury litigation, a Juris Doctor degree, and admission to the Texas Bar. The position is hybrid, allowing for remote work.
Requirements
- Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
- Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, to include depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath
