A Senior Scientific Software Engineer is needed to establish new and maintain existing workflows, libraries, and tools for the analysis of transcriptomics and epigenetic data at the bulk and single cell level. The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop scientific workflows and tools that make data available to machines and humans.
Requirements
- PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or similar and 2 years of relevant experience
- Masters degree or equivalent and at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Expert knowledge of R package development and core R and Posit package development and deployment toolchain
- Successful analysis of large datasets using R and familiarity with major tools and statistical methods used during single cell and bulk data analysis
- Understanding of transcriptomic and epigenetic analysis to identify, diagnose, and mitigate unlikely or surprising results
- Experience in managing FAIR data, tracking data lineage, ensuring data quality, and improving data discovery
