Requirements
- Create mechanical designs and drawings mechanical systems for use in rugged environments using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
- Support the full design life cycle from requirements definition, concept through to successful production ramp-up, including support for prototype procurement, assembly, design verification and qualification testing, and on-going manufacturing support
- Review part and assembly drawings and parts lists in support of the release of design activities
- Work with other mechanical designers and engineers, system engineers and human factor engineers in the development of installation designs of military vehicles
- Work closely with other design professionals, systems engineers, Supply chain management personnel, and manufacturing engineers to ensure a smooth flow of information throughout a project
- Perform 3D scanning and process data in support of vehicle platforms
- Perform vehicle cable routing per Company Standards
- Responsible for the successful completion of project goals according to General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada (GDMS-C) standard processes and procedures
- Support Program management in the creation of reports for technical reviews and task process updates
- Travel to Department of National Defence (DND) locations in Canada to review vehicles for installation design, AND to install the final design for system qualification and verification
