Controls Engineer

The Controls Engineer – Bedford GPS is responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting electrical control and automation systems that support aluminum casting and machining operations at the Bedford plant. The role applies GM common controls standards to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment across CSS, DCN, HIDC, and related areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, Mechanical, Computer, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience as an Engineer in an industrial/manufacturing environment (co‐op/internship plus post‐graduate experience considered in aggregate).
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex controls and automation issues in a high‐volume manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work across operations, maintenance, engineering, and suppliers.
