SPED - Self-Contained Middle School Teacher

We are seeking a Special Education Self-contained Teacher to join our team at GEO Prep Mid-City, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in the content area and a valid teaching license. The teacher will be responsible for maintaining student service logs, creating and modifying lessons, and providing individual and group services to students.

• Maintain student Service Logs
• Create and modify student lessons
• Keep daily Service Logs
• Conduct small group lessons
• Provide individual student services
• Mainstream students into General Education classrooms
• Collaborate with classroom teachers
• Provide services to students as outlined in IEP
• Write Effective IEPs
• Meet all deadlines
• Monitor progress
• Maintain updated Service Schedule
• Maintain updated caseload lists
• Provide Accommodations/Modifications
• Parental contacts w/documentation
• Facilitate academic testing
• Facilitate statewide testing
• Communicate suspensions
• Attend all required staff meetings
• File state documents in Special Education file and office
