SY 2026-2027 Middle School Social Studies Teacher (8th grade)

Gestalt Community Schools is seeking a Middle School Social Studies Teacher to teach 8th grade. The teacher will design lesson plans, develop assessments, and integrate technology into the classroom. Responsibilities include teaching a common core based curriculum, motivating scholars, and working with special educators in a co-teaching model.

Requirements

• Holds a current TN teaching license in History with appropriate endorsement codes
• Has a bachelor’s degree or higher
• Has a proven track record of academic success
• Believes that all students can learn at high academic levels
• Uses digital content and technology integration in a highly proficient manner
• Has the ability to work in an extended day environment
• Has the ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co-teacher
• Has good communication and written skills
• Is a team player with strong interpersonal skills
