Ortho-Assistant

This role is for an Ortho-Assistant to assist Hygienists, Doctors, and patients in providing excellent care. The assistant must be accountable for ensuring efficient and productive patient treatment by properly preparing instruments, sterilizing equipment, and helping uncover patient needs and motivations. The position requires understanding and adhering to guidelines and contributing to efficient practice operations.

Requirements

• Understand and follow oral, assumed and foreshadowed needs and wants of the doctor, Hygienist, and patients.
• Maintain integrity of clinical team time.
• Accurately prepare instruments before each treatment.
• Sterilize instruments according to lab and sterilization guidelines.
• Understand and believe in a 'Healthy Mouth' and compare patients' mouth to a baseline.
• Update medical history and record blood pressure.
• Uncover and record patient 'Personal Motivators'.
• Assist Hygienist during periodontal evaluations.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations.
• Maintain clean and organized practice areas.
• Participate in morning meetings.
• Assist in patient referrals.
