Senior Data Scientist, Fraud Prevention

GoCardless is a global bank payment company that is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join its Fraud Prevention team. The role involves working on predictive models to prevent and detect merchant fraud, collaborating with engineers and fraud analysts, and developing solutions to reduce false positives and automate controls.

Requirements

• Degree (or PhD) in a STEM discipline or equivalent commercial experience
• Experience in deploying predictive models and data products in production with quantifiable impact
• Ability to translate complex ML concepts into practical product solutions and communicate these ideas clearly to non-technical peers
• Experience with writing and maintaining code to a production-level standard
• Comfortable contributing across the full model lifecycle, from deep-dive analysis and feature engineering to prototyping, validation, and live A/B testing
