Job Description
The Group Leader-Summer Day Camp position is responsible for leading and working with a group of co-ed children (grades K-8) and staff in a Beacon Community Center. The Group Leader works in unison with other Group Leaders and activity specialists to provide a positive and creative environment for the social and intellectual development of all participants. The position requires a strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Requirements
- Foster a learning, stimulating environment that allows youth's creative growth and development.
- Work collaboratively with other Group Leaders and activity specialists.
- Supervise youth and participate in all activities.
- Deliver recreational and cultural programs to develop community and explore the summer theme through art, games, and varied projects.
- Maintain sound supervision and always ensuring the safety of program participants.
- Fulfill administrative requirements (prepare calendars, follow schedules, assist in community events, maintain attendance records, complete incident reports and progress reports).
- Supervise Youth Workers and other supportive staff.
- Communicate with families about participant's experiences and report concerns to Program Coordinator and Program Director.
