The Data Center Facilities Technician/Engineer, Controls will operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions for Google data centers, ensuring that environmental and safety standards are consistently met. The role requires experience in controls/automation, ability to work non-standard hours, and knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in Controls/Automation in an industrial or commercial environment
- Industry standard certifications related to system administration (e.g., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Certified Windows or Linux system administrator)
- 5 years of experience in controls/automation, or construction/technical environment or a related field
- Experience in data centers, hospitals, power plants, or laboratories
- Experience with scripting language
- Knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, relays and troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment
- Ability to communicate with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data center systems
