The cook assistant will assist cooks in preparing meals, cleaning and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The role requires collaboration, attention to detail, and the capacity to handle high pressure situations in a dynamic culinary setting.
Requirements
- Food is to be prepared in sufficient quantity following written menus using standard recipes for general and Therapeutic diets.
- Maintain records, temperatures, meal counts.
- Attend Nutritional Services meetings to receive updates and direction.
- Sanitize and clean workstations and utensils for safety and to meet health requirements.
- Provide menus to patients and deliver food orders to patients in a timely manner for a positive patient experience.
- Storing all food properly for safe storage and to prevent spoilage.
- Cook according to food code and safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed.
- Wash and put away dishes for readiness of next food preparation cycle.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café including sweeping and mopping.
- Taking care of freight when truck deliveries arrive.
