As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will design, build, and operate the core data platform infrastructure on AWS and Databricks. You will also mentor and coach engineers, provide technical leadership for cross-team projects, and collaborate with product, data engineering, and security teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and operating data platforms, cloud infrastructure, or related systems.
- Strong AWS experience (EC2, EMR, S3, IAM, VPC, EKS, Lambda, Kinesis, CloudWatch).
- Experience in networking, security, and cost optimization.
- Significant production experience with Databricks (cluster tuning, jobs, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog or governance features).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred).
- Experience in Python, SQL, and shell scripting. Familiarity with Spark internals is a plus.
- Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, and containerized data workloads.
- Familiarity with Airflow, or other orchestration tools.
- Observability tooling experience (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry).
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
- Able to communicate ideas clearly in writing and verbally, document design decisions effectively, and provide guidance to teammates.
