Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Grab is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to join the Mobility team in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The role involves designing, building, and optimizing critical backend systems that power the Grab platform at scale. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in distributed systems environments and proficiency in at least one backend programming language.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in distributed systems environments
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (Go, C++, Python, or similar)
• Experience with computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and system design principles
• Experience developing large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, or similar)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms, AWS, including auto-scaling and resource
