Job Description
Grand River Navigation Company is seeking qualified Mate / First Class Pilots to join their deck or engine teams on US-flagged self-unloading vessels. The company offers a family-oriented environment, a safe work system, and competitive benefits. The position involves navigating, maintaining, and ensuring the safe loading/unloading of cargo, and supervised maintenance of the vessel's hull, decks, and superstructure.
Requirements
- Safe manning of a Navigation Watch
- Supervising the Maintenance and upkeep of the hull, decks and superstructure of the vessel
- Responsible for the safe loading, unloading of cargo
- Ensuring that vessel lifesaving and firefighting equipment is properly maintained
- Supervising and directing the vessels Deck Department
- Eligible to be endorsed as Mate of Unlimited Tonnage on the Great Lakes
- Legally authorized to work in the US, without restriction
