The Utility Laborer is responsible for supporting asphalt, concrete, and underground crews with preparing and maintaining construction projects at various sites.
Requirements
- Removal of debris, rocks, dirt, concrete, asphalt, and other material
- Daily job site and equipment inspections
- Job site clean-up and maintenance
- Equipment, tools, and machinery maintenance
- Perimeter barricades, fencing, and screening installation and maintenance
- Grade checks
- Operation of hand tools and equipment
- Basic surveying/layout equipment operation
- Handling, securing, loading, and unloading of construction materials, tools, and machinery
- Digging holes or trenches, cutting, grinding, breaking up, and demolishing concrete and asphalt
- Shoveling, excavating, backfilling, and compacting materials
- Assistance with subgrade work, mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete
- Setting structures, building, and moving forms, cutting lumber, and strip/patch
- Assembling and dismantling scaffolding, ladders, ramps, catwalks, shoring, barricades, and other temporary structures
- Traffic flagging and control
- Operation of equipment including skid steers, forklifts, and light vehicles
- Supporting Carpenters, Masons, Operators, and other specialized trades
