Graphic Packaging International is seeking a Printing Press Operator (3rd Shift) to lead the press crew in the everyday operation of the press and ensure top quality production. The successful candidate will have prior experience in a similar Press Operator role and be able to work independently with excellent attendance.
Requirements
- Setup and adjust press
- Troubleshoot and correct quality/machine problems
- Review job bag to ensure proper specifications
- Direct crews to stay on task
- Control color to proper delta E
- Ability to use densitometer
- Perform PM and minor repairs
- Work with Printing Manager to suggest potential improvements (productivity, process & quality)
- Ensure necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality of specifications of the work
- Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully
- Adjusts press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand tools.
- Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools.
- Wash blankets and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.
- Primary point man for maintenance of the press.
- Performs other duties as required to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the Company.
