Job Description
The Swim Lesson Instructor is responsible for working in the water, assisting in conducting aquatic instruction for members and participants. The position requires 15 years of age, successful completion of swimming skills test, and pursuit of YMCA swim Lesson Instructor certification, CPR, First Aid, Oxygen, and Lifeguarding.
Requirements
- 15 years of age with successful completion of swimming skills test.
- Pursue YMCA swim Lesson Instructor certification, CPR, First Aid, Oxygen, and Lifeguarding.
- Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim.
- Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience.
- Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents.
- Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
