Job Description
The Master Field Technician is responsible for independently troubleshooting, removing, installing, replacing, rebuilding, repairing, and testing parts/equipment on construction equipment at an expert level while working in the field. The technician will use various tools and resources to diagnose and repair equipment, as well as perform inspections and preventative maintenance.
Requirements
- High school education or GED
- Eight years of experience with Cat equipment or similar equipment
- Must fully understand all four mechanical systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.) for numerous model lines
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb beside, onto, and underneath equipment
- Ability to lift/position parts up to 112 pounds and use mechanical hoist for heavier parts
- Ability to document repair activities on customer work orders
- Cognitive reasoning and problem-solving skills to apply knowledge and written information
- Basic proficiency using PC-based equipment and parts information
- Ability to learn and use various diagnostic and troubleshooting software
- Valid state driver's license and safe driving record
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and DOT medical certification (if required)
