Claims Specialist

The Claims Specialist ensures the accurate entry of inpatient and outpatient claims and ensures the timely processing of claims per the adjudication rules for accurate payment or denial. They perform under the general direction, guidance, and supervision of the Claims Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• One (1) to two (2) years' administrative experience in an insurance, healthcare, financial or relevant environment
• Knowledge of claims processing techniques, procedures, and practices
• Ability to develop and maintain a working knowledge of claims adjudication rules
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Ability to work independently with general supervision
• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements
