Job Description
Plan and fabricate metal plate and structural parts for riveting or welding on ships, locate and mark reference lines, and measure and install pipe and plate for cutting and/or threading according to specifications. May roll, bend, flange, cut, and shape plates, beams, and other heavy metal parts using shop machinery. Fit pipe and/or plate in the repair and/or construction of marine vessels and industrial components.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or one year certificate from college or technical school
- Industrial and/or marine fitting experience
- Pass the Gulf Copper written pipe fitter test and/or hands-on test when applicable
- NCCER card preferred
