GZA’s Manhattan, New York office is seeking a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to join our transportation, building, energy, and infrastructure practice. The successful candidate will support projects through proposal, contract, and execution phases, with responsibility for the day-to-day technical delivery of work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
- Engineer in Training (EIT) required; intent to obtain PE within 1–2 years
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (Master’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years)
- Experience with geotechnical design and construction for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, ground improvement, and related evaluations
- Ability to perform and manage fieldwork and construction oversight
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and geotechnical software (e.g., SEEP/W, SLOPE/W, LPILE, GROUP, Settle 3D, WEAP, or similar); proficiency with Autodesk CAD programs is a plus
