Accountant

The Accountant records financial activity, reconciles general ledger accounts, and prepares internal reports for Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona Corporate Office in Phoenix, AZ. The position involves flexibility and adaptability, with tasks changing as duties are assigned and products/services evolve.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Three years of related experience
• Knowledge of cost accounting and/or construction industry
• Knowledge of loan servicing
• Self-motivated and resourceful
• Strong attention to detail and ability to check and reconcile work
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently but also collaboratively as part of a team
• Positive personality, attitude, and professionalism
• Knowledge of GAAP (nonprofit accounting a plus)
• Knowledge of accounting software (preferably Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT)
• Strong MS Access skills
• Strong MS Excel and Word skills
• Ability to work 40+ hours/week; evening and weekend hours may be needed on rare occasions
• Proficient with 10-Key
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Current Arizona driver’s license, clean driving record, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle required
