Survey Party Chief

The Survey Party Chief assists in surveying, calculates field notes, and prepares related drawings and documents. The position requires a working knowledge of civil engineering principles, county geography, and topographic surveying. The incumbent will serve as instrument and rod technician, supervise survey technicians and part-time laborers, and perform various tasks related to monumentation and surveys.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in surveying, civil engineering, architecture, or related area
• ACSM Certified Technician
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of civil engineering principles and terminology
• Knowledge of county geography and topographic surveying
• Ability to read, interpret and use land documents
• Ability to prepare correspondence and detailed reports
• Ability to operate various office equipment
• Ability to analyze and interpret technical reference materials
• Ability to properly use surveying equipment
• Ability to physically perform essential duties of the position
