We are assisting our confidential client with the search for a highly motivated Materials Engineer to support the work of the Materials Development and Qualification team.
Requirements
- Interface with project teams to provide material selection, processes, and requirements for the reactor development programs.
- Perform scientific analysis of reports and test data (e.g., metallography, non-destructive inspection, mechanical properties, ductility) and generate technical specifications to document new knowledge related to reactor design and qualification.
- Oversee test programs designed to develop an understanding of complex mechanical phenomena (e.g. creep, fatigue, creep fatigue, stress corrosion cracking, and fracture) in sodium cooled fast reactor plant materials such as steel alloys
- Provide materials engineering support for the procurement of engineered components and systems including leading technical development of suppliers to increase technology readiness level of key components.
