Staff Software Engineer

Harness is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to design and develop scalable backend services using Golang, architect and maintain distributed microservices-based systems, and work with PostgreSQL, Redis, S3, and AWS cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Go, C++, and Java, and a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, concurrency, memory management, CPU/process architecture, containers, cgroups, and filesystems.

Requirements

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Golang
• Architect and maintain distributed microservices-based systems
• Build reliable APIs and internal platform services using REST(gorilla.mux, alice.chains) and gRPC
• Optimize system performance across compute, memory, storage, and networking layers
• Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, S3, and AWS cloud infrastructure
• Deploy and manage cloud-native applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Troubleshoot complex production and infrastructure-level issues
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality, and system reliability
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership across teams
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scalable and resilient solutions
