Lead Structural Engineer

The Lead Structural Engineer will provide leadership and support to the Engineering Manager, responsible for supervising a team of structural engineers and designers. Key duties include developing plans to meet project requirements, managing teams, and ensuring quality, cost, and schedule objectives are met.

Requirements

• Have a clear understanding of project requirements
• Develop man-hour budgets and structural manpower schedules
• Manage and review Engineering Work Packages
• Review and approve design criteria documents
• Assign work tasks and monitor progress
• Represent the practice in engineering coordination meetings
• Participate in design reviews and milestone reviews
• Ensure coordination of all activities between the group and other practices
• Manage personnel and approve timesheets
• Assign individuals to development of deliverables
• Ensure 3D reporting and 2D drawing deliverable reporting
• Coordinate production of designs
• Provide training for resources assigned to the project
• Ensure relevant technical experts are involved in the design process
• Perform quality audit verifications
• Report deviations from the baseline scope of work
• Collaborate with client representatives
• Support site engineering team
• Ensure all work designed, manufactured and supplied complies with relevant sections of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
