We are seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Mississauga, ON, Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for the purchase/delivery of project material/equipment in accordance with the schedule, and will have experience in materials/equipment acquisition and purchasing strategy/procedures.
Requirements
- Relevant technical qualification or trade qualification in relevant discipline
- Relevant 12-18 years+ experience as a Buyer
- Experience as a Buyer in local and international markets
- Experience working on large or complex projects
- High degree of technical aptitude and familiarity with various materials, fabrication processes and supply items
- Ability to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives and strong deliverable focus
- Strong technical focus with a good understanding of engineering concepts
- Good understanding of procurement, contracting, pre-operational verification and commissioning methodologies
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 and ISO 19011
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- A strong focus toward clients
- Working knowledge of SmartPlant system (or similar) is advantageous
- Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements
- Excellent understanding of project execution, especially materials management and scheduling
