Tunnel Project Engineer

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering from accredited university
• Licensed P.E. in the state of California
• 10+ years’ experience in the design of underground structures
• Experience working in a consulting engineering environment
• Knowledge of geotechnical and structural engineering principles
• Competent in finite element or finite difference design software
• Application of soil mechanics for underground structures and ground/structural interaction models for tunnels
• Experience in seismic zone 4 projects involving seismic soil-structure analyses
• Broad understanding of trenchless technologies and tunneling methods
• Experience with design of shaft support techniques in both soil and rock environments
• Knowledge of tunnel engineering and construction terminology
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task
• Highly motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic team player
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a flexible attitude
• Capable of working independently
