Job Description
We are seeking a professional meteorologist to join our team at the P DN WATCH OFFICE Department of the P EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS & RESPONSE Division at Hawaiian Electric Company. The successful candidate will provide meteorological support, advice, research, and analysis to the Watch Office and blue-sky operational support and incident operational support when the Company’s Incident Management Team is activated for gray and black sky conditions.
Requirements
- Implement procedures, monitor, analyze, and produce short, medium, and long-range weather forecasts and reports for situational awareness
- Monitor weather conditions for the potential of increased fire weather potential and communicate with Management about the risk
- Supports and advises the Watch Office during times of inclement weather that may have direct impacts to the reliability of grid and employee safety
