State and Local Tax Internship - Summer 2027

HCVT is a firm that offers Tax, Audit, Advisory, and Business Management services to clients across various industries. They are seeking a State and Local Tax Intern to work in Irvine, CA or Long Beach, CA. The internship is a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for remote and in-office work. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing state and local income tax returns, identifying accounting and income tax issues, and developing strong relationships with firm professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or master's degree in accounting or taxation between December 2027 - July 2028
• Available to work 40 hours a week from Mid-June through Mid-August
• Minimum overall and accounting GPAs of 3.0
• Active membership in Beta Alpha Psi or another campus accounting organization
• Strong technical aptitude and effective verbal and written communication skills
• Leadership skills, strong judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment and receptive to feedback and coaching
• Multi-tasking, prioritizing responsibilities, and taking initiative on projects
• High attention to detail
• Positive attitude and team player mentality with a can-do spirit
