Lead, Application Development (Java)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Java Team Lead to join our team. The Team Lead will be responsible for designing and implementing Java web-based applications, analyzing user requirements to inform application design, and creating architectural models that demonstrate the flow and functionality of applications.

What You Will Do

Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications, design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code, ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications, and guide and provide technical leadership to the software development team.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of senior development experience, with 5+ years in a team lead or mentoring role, preferably in a global or offshore setting
• Proven work experience as a Java Architect or similar role in software development, including creating application architecture diagrams
• Proficiency in frontend technologies like React or Angular is a must
• Expert-level knowledge of Java and its ecosystems
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Familiarity with various design and architectural patterns
• Knowledge of concurrency patterns in Java
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications
• Basic understanding of the class loading mechanism in Java
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, with familiarity using Azure DevOps
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, Gradle, and Azure pipelines
• MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience leveraging cloud solutions in AWS
• Experience with SAML and application security best practices
