HDR is looking for a Dam Safety Engineer/Subject Matter Expert to join their thriving and growing Hydropower Practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in dam safety, hydropower, and regulatory compliance. The role involves supporting inspections, conducting analyses, and developing design options for dams and water retaining structures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Geological, or Geotechnical engineering (or related engineering degree)
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in one of the following disciplines: Geotechnical, Geological, Civil/Structural or Hydrology and Hydraulics, or Mechanical engineering or life safety and economic consequence estimation
- Experience with dams, water conveyances or other constructed project works and infrastructure associated with hydropower and pumped-storage projects regulated by FERC or other agencies
- Experience working in a multi-discipline environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
